CHRISTIAN INITIATION - "RITE OF WELCOMING"
This weekend at the 11:30 am Mass, we are celebrating the first ritual in the process of Christian Initiation – “The Rite of Welcoming.” We, the Church, welcome these initiates and accept them into the process to continue their journey towards full initiation into the Catholic Faith at Easter.
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS OF SECOND GRADERS
We have scheduled atraining session for all parents whose children are in second grade and who will be celebrating their First Confession and First Holy Communion in the Spring. It will be held next Sunday, January 17 after the 11:30 am Mass, in the Holy Name Hall. All parents are expected to be present. Since children will be here for CCD and then attending Mass, they and the parents will have a light snack and then Nancy Lesko will conduct the session. Guidelines, worksheets, work books and instructions will be given out. The session will last about one hour.

MYSTERY DINNER THEATER: DIAL "M" FOR MOTHER
SAVE THE DATE: On Saturday evening, February 13, in Holy Name Hall, we will be having a “Mystery Dinner Theater.” The evening will include dinner and an interactive mystery theater done by a professional company. You will be invited to the Fates Motel for Mother Fates' 100th birthday celebration. Be sure to bathe her in the spotlight and shower her with attention, but take care to soak up the ambiance of the historic rooming house and the soap opera about to take place inside. ATTENTION ALL WOMEN
After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, we all need time to reflect on and refresh our Spiritual Life. The Christian Mothers and Guild cordially invites all women to our one-day Retreat on Tuesday, January 12th at the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse on Rock Run Road in Elizabeth (across from Butler Golf Course). The Theme of the Retreat is "Women on a Mission".
The day will begin with a meet and greet at 10:00am, the $20 fee will include lunch. Fr. Tom will celebrate Holy Mass. Our day will conclude around 4-4:30pm. Long-time parishioner Marilyn Kurutz has been diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. A calendar luncheon cancer benefit in her honor will be held Sunday, Feb. 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Homestead. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance. Organizers are also seeking Chinese Auction donations of gift cards, gift certificates or baskets. ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND DEPAUL SCHOOL FOR HEARING AND SPEECH COLLECTION
The weekend of January 16/17 has been designated for a collection for these 2 very vital programs. St. Anthony School offers inclusive education to children (ages 5 – 12) with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism. DePaul School teaches children (ages 18 months – 14 years) who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and speak without using sign language. Every dollar donated to this collection will be credited to our parishes Parish Share goal.
