DESIGNER PURSE BINGO THANK YOU
We would like to thank everyone who in any way made this joint parish event such a huge success. The generosity of the parishioners of both parishes is truly amazing! Special thanks to Debbie Stewart and her committee for coordinating a first class event. Thank you to those who donated purses, money, cookies, Chinese auction prizes, and/or their time. Thank you to those who attended. Over 250 people enjoyed fun, food and purses. We realized a profit of $8,856.38.
We welcome Fr. Aaron Buzzelli, OSB, from St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, who will be speaking at all Masses this weekend to ask for your support for the Abbey’s Missionary work in Brazil and Taiwan. Thank you for your support in prayer and for sharing your resources to support the Mission work of the Benedictines of St. Vincent.
Christ the Light of the World Parish would like to thank “The Gang” for their memorial gift of $325 made to the parish in loving memory of Gene Janosik.
SINGING FOR THE LORD
One of the keystones and hallmarks of our wonderful liturgies in the parishes in the City of Duquesne is our Music Ministry. Did you ever think this might be something that God is calling you to be a part of? The Adult Choir is in need of more voices. We need Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, and Basses. If you are able to sing and are willing to commit to rehearsals and Masses, come join us. Our season begins October 7! For further information, contact Debbie Walters by October 1st at 412-853-7354 or email@example.com. We look forward to singing with you!
Announcing a New Children’s Choir & a New Children’s Handbell Choir! The Children’s Choir that will be open to children in grades K-8. We will be preparing for the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve! What a wonderful way for your child to participate even more in the Liturgy. For additional information, contact Debbie Walters by October 1st at 412-853-7354 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to meeting you!
PARISH SHARE PROGRAM REMINDERS BEING SENT OUT
This week, we will be sending out “reminder invitations” to all those parishioners who have yet to participate in this year’s Parish Share Program. To date, Christ the Light of the World Parish has received $24,474.00 in outright donations and pledge payments from 108 donors towards our goal of $54,774.00. This leaves us a balance of $30,300.00. St. Joseph Parish has received $8,080.00 in outright donations and pledge payments from 49 donors towards our goal of $20,137.00. This leaves us a balance of $12,057.00.
Balances must be paid by Dec. 31. If we fall short of our goals, we must take from our parish savings, which means less money to do the upkeep and maintenance of our 7 parish buildings.
- There are 692 envelope holders who have yet to participate for Christ the Light of the World Parish and 257 envelope holders for St. Joseph Parish who have yet to participate. If everyone would do so, we would have no problem hitting our goals. No donation is too small and every donation is greatly appreciated.
- If just 303 people made a $100.00 donation for Christ the Light of the World and 121 people made a donation of $100.00 for St. Joseph Parish, we would be able to meet these obligations and have funds for parish improvements.
- Thanks: to everyone who has participated so far, either through this program or by donating using the “monthly extra PSP envelope” in your packets. Every dollar gets us a step closer to our goals.
