Believe! Fr. Dennis: I am ecstatic to report the following: December 23 – the MRI on my brain showed NO CANCER. December 31 – between the MRI and an exam by my ear, nose, throat doctor, GONE is the sinusitis, the ear infection. I can actually hear in my left ear. Take from this what you will, but nothing started getting better until we started the St. Jude Novena. Thank you, Fr. Dennis for including all of us in need. I continue to pray for your complete recovery. We have only to sincerely believe....Paula
2014 CHILDREN'S/FAMILY CALENDARS
These calendars are available for families with children. They can be found around the churches. They are provided for us by the Teichart – Gracan Funeral Home.
REST IN PEACE
Please remember Irene Simurda and Kathy Butler, who died and rose to new life with the Lord.
CHILDREN'S 2014 CONTRIBUTION ENVELOPES
These are available for your use. CCD students received them in class. Catholic school and High School students can locate theirs in the back vestibule in Holy Name Church.
HOMEMADE HOAGIE SALE
Our post holiday hoagies sale will be held the weekend of, January 18/19, at all the churches and in the church hall on Saturday morning till 11:00 am. To place an order just call the rectory and we can have them ready for you.
- Volunteers: We need many helpers to make this event successful and go smoothly and quickly. We always have 25 – 30 volunteers but we can always use more. The time commitment is about 3 hours. Besides doing a service for your parish, you also meet other happy parishioners who want their parish to be a success. If you want to help just show up at 8:00 am and you will be given a job.
- Orders: More and more businesses and work places are placing orders. Why not yours? They make a great lunch for Monday. Just call the rectory for the number of hoagies and when you will pick them up.
BEING THE OUTSTRETCHED LOVING ARMS OF JESUS (ONCE AGAIN)
If you were at any of our Christmas Masses, Fr. Dennis reminded us of how the Lord continues to give us a dose of reality and bring us back to the simple, important things of life. Once again, we are being given the opportunity to “be Christ for one another.” Two days before Christmas, Ken & Sandy Kracinosky’s house burned. So many people want to respond to them. We are going to reachout in two ways which will be timely and effective.
- The Women’s Spiritual Focus Group at their meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8 are going to hold a “Household Goods Replacement Shower/Party. Bring a newly purchased item that they could use once their house becomes livable again. This event is open to everyone from both parishes who wishes to attend. Refreshments will be served.
- REACHOUT: Anyone who might want to reach out, can make a monetary donation or donate a gift card (from a store where they may purchase household items.) Send it to the rectory or drop it in the collection and we will deliver them personally. Make the checks to “Ken & Sandy Kracinosky.” Write their names on the outside of the envelope.
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS OF SECOND GRADERS
Dear Parents: If your child attends CCD or any Catholic school and will be making their First Confession and Communion in the Spring, then you are expected to attend the “Parent Instruction” to be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the Holy Name Hall immediately after the 11:30 am Mass. The parents will be given the tools and materials that they will need to prepare their children for these two sacraments.
STAFF - PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERS - FINANCNE COUNCIL MEMBERS
Please mark your calendars for Monday, January 27 to meet with Fr. Fred Cain, our regional vicar. He will meet with the paid staff during the day and the other members of parish leadership of both parishes in the evening in the Holy Name Hall. Your attendance at this meeting is expected. If you are unable to attend, call Fr. Dennis.
