BAPTISMS

Congratulations to the family of Gabriel James Wolf, who was baptized into God’s family this weekend.

FLEA MARKET THANK YOU

A most grateful “Thank You” is sent out to all those who in anyway helped make this year’s Indoor/Outdoor Summer Flea Market another rousing success.  Under the chairmanship of Louise Yevick and over 35 volunteers who worked sorting, preparing, setting up, selling before, during and after the sale, we were able to accomplish great things.  Also, we gratefully acknowledge all those who donated items for sale, Chinese auction items, food and baked goods.  This monumental event could not have been possible without many hands and many hearts working so hard together for the good of their parish.  This event is also truly appreciated by the many dozens of people from Duquesne and the surrounding neighborhoods who come to shop who might not otherwise have the means to do so.  Prize winners are listed on the back of this bulletin, as well as the profit found at the bottom under financial report.

JOINT PARISH PICNIC BEING PLANNED

We are planning an exciting “Joint Parish Family Picnic” to be held on Sunday, September 8th at the Mifflin SociaClub, West Mifflin from 1 pm – 7 pm.  We hope that you will mark your calendars and plan to attend this event.  There are lots of plans being made.  We are having games and face painting for the kids.  Music and Dancing.  Dinner will be served at 4:00 pm.  The parishes will provide the entrees and those attending are asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert.  You will be asked to bring something so we don’t have multiples of one items.  BYOB.

  • If you are interested in helping or attending, get in touch with Doug Vranish (douglasvranish@yahoo.com) or 412-969-8222 or Kristie England (kristieengland510@hotmail.com) or 412-616-2596.
  • More details will be available in the coming weeks.  Registration kickoff will begin July 20,2103
  • This event will be a great way for families of both parishes to meet each other, as well as the many new families who have joined to get to know us better.

MIKE'S FIGHT - MEDICAL UPDATE

We wanted to update everyone on the recent medical report of Mike Walters.  His bone marrow came back clear, which the doctor’s consider him in remission. Starting this week, he begins a new regimen of chemo.  He begins a series of three chemo injections and two weeks worth of a chemo pill for the next two years.  Over the course of two years he will continue to be monitored to be sure that he remains cancer free.

Mike was hoping to try to get back into the workforce, however his doctor said he cannot clear him yet as he needs to see how he will react to this new treatment.  We are praying for continued good outcomes.
