THANK YOU

To the parishioner who wishes to remain anonymous, who donated a 10” radial arm saw to the cause of church improvement.  At this time, it seems our tooling needs have been generously met.

EASTER BUNNY RAFFLE

For a $10.00 donation, each ticket gives you 36 chances to win, commencing on Easter Sunday, April 8 through Mother’s Day, May 13.  There is $100.00 winner each day, except for Easter Sunday and Mother’s Day which has a $200.00 prize.  If you would like extra for Easter gifts or Easter Basket stuffers, call the rectory and we will send you some OR mail your request and donation and we will send you the ticket that you need. These fundraisers go a long way to helping keep up our parish.  Your participation is vital.

MARCH HOAGIE SALE

Our next weekend Homemade Hoagie Sale will be held in two weeks, the weekend of March 3& 4.  You can order yours by call Holy Name Rectory or pick them up before or after the weekend Masses or stop by Saturday morning from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.

  • Volunteers:  last month 31 volunteers showed up to help.  We are considering expanding our sales so we hopefully would like to get some more so we can stay within our 3 hour time frame.  This event is a lot of fun and you get to meet new people willing to help the parish.  It is especially good for those people who work and can’t help out at weekday events.
  • Sellers:  we have also had an increase in those willing to take orders to work or put up a sign up sheet.  Once your co-workers try the hoagies, they become regular customers.  Where can you get a whole lunch for $5.00?

YOUR 2 FOR 1 CHALLENGE DONATIONS AT WORK

The issues with the physical plant and buildings are a never ending challenge.  The marbleized walls behind the piano and next to the tabernacle and the wall next to the baptismal font are deteriorating and crumbling due to another water invasion.  Thanks to the good weather, we were able to climb into the bowels of the church ceiling and onto the roof.  We found the flashing, gutters and chimney on the right side were deteriorated and allowing water to leach all the way down the wall and the chimney on the left side of the church was ready to fall and thus allowing for water infiltration.

  • Work To Begin:  Here are the proposals to accomplish these inside repairs.  These figures, hopefully will be an inspiration to continue the monetary support of your parish.  1) 28 day rental for 3 scaffolding systems - $1,400.00, 2) Labor to erect & dismantle - $7,275.00, 3) Freight to deliver equipment - $700.00, 4) Painting , patching, re-plastering, installation of lathe, faux marbleizing - $3,330.00. I have submitted these quotes to the insurance carrier.  Hopefully they will cover the cost of repairs. If not, your 2 for 1 challenge dollars will be put to good use.

YEAR END CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS

The 2011 contribution statements are available for your annual income tax preparation.  You can call the rectory and we will prepare them and we will send them to you.
