MOTHER'S DAY REACHOUT - COLLECTION FOR A FALLEN POLICE OFFICER
In support of all of our public safety servants (police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel), Fr. Dennis has decided to have a special second collection taken up on Mother’s Day weekend, May 7 & 8 for the fallen wounded Clairton police officer, James Kuzak. All donations will be forwarded to the “James Kuzak Benefit Fund.” Checks should be made out to either Christ the Light of the World Parish or St. Joseph Parish. They donations will then be deposited and sent.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF NEWBORNS AND INFANTS
Fr. Dennis has been made aware of a program at which one of our parishioners volunteers her services. The program is called, “Newborns is Need.” This charity specializes in addressing the needs of babies facing health or economic crisis. It’s mission is “serving all of God’s children” throughout the United States. They provide and are in need of “Gently used baby clothes – newborns to 12 months". Since we have lots of baptisms, we thought that there might be families whose newborn children quickly outgrow their infant clothes. If you have any and would like to donate them for this cause, just gather them up and bring them to church on the weekend. Drop them off in the vestibule of any of our churches and we will get them delivered. It seems as though people, your family, friends or relatives have lots of baby clothes not being used. We will accept these donations during the month of May. When the need arises again, or you have baby items during the rest of the year and want to donate them, just let us know.
