REGULAR MASS SCHEDULE

We will return to our regular weekend Mass schedule next weekend, April 17.

YOUR 2-FOR-1 CONTRIBUTION DOLLARS AT WORK

We are excited to announce and show to you the newest addition to our music ministry, a “Baldwin Baby Grand Piano.” It measures 5’2”, has a walnut finish and was built around 1980.  It has had one owner, Lucy Casciato of Altoona.  It is valued at $10,000.00 and we made an offer of $6,000.00, which was accepted.  We are happy to upgrade our liturgy for many years to come.  If anyone would like to donate this piano in memory of a loved one, call Fr. Dennis.  A brass plate identifying this donation can made available and accessible and then our 2-for-1 dollars can then be used elsewhere.

PALM SUNDAY COUNTRY BUFFET BREAKFAST

On Palm Sunday morning, April 17, the Caring Ministry will be hosting their annual “Country Buffet Breakfast.” A variety of breakfast items will be served buffet style.  Donation is $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children (12 & under.) Donations:  anyone wishing to make a monetary donation to help defray the cost may do so by sending it to the rectory or dropping it in the collection.  Mark the envelope “Caring Ministry.”   Volunteers:  we need people to help prepare and serve.  If you can help a few hours that day, call Debbie Lesko (412-469-0213) or Terry Fuller (412-466-4223.)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have need of servers to help at the Good Friday Fish Fry and help to clean up that evening or Saturday morning.  If you can donate a few hours, it would be greatly appreciated.  This event helps the parish, so if you can help, call Larry Lesko (412-849-6456) or the rectory.

MEN'S SPIRITUAL FOCUS GROUP

Our monthly gathering of men which focuses in upon the spiritual aspect of our lives continues this Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 pm in the HN Hall.  We have about 20 men who join us and are always welcoming new members to this very special, spiritual, and enriching experience.  The age range of participants is from 20 to 70.  We have had inquires from other pastors and parishes to begin this type of group in their parish.  Anyone considering joining should just come.  Maybe you can ask yourself the question, “With all that you are responsible for, isn’t your spiritual wellbeing worth it.”

LENTEN NEWS

Reachout to the Needy:   Help, Our, Own.  Drop your donation in the collection or mail to the rectory to help feed our parishioners and realize that the new life of Easter comes also through the kindness of strangers.

Coin Collection: Begin saving your coins for the offering for the poor at our Holy Thursday Ministry of Service.

Pierogies – ALL LENT LONG:
“Gosia’s” pierogies will be available all during the season of Lent for $6.00 a dozen. We have potato/cheese and sweet cabbage available. You may stop at the Holy Name Rectory during the week.

All members are asked to bring a salad and a non-perishable food item for the Intersection.  2011 dues will be collected.  May 24 will be the May crowning and nomination of officers. NEWS FROM OUR ADOPTED TROOPS

John:  I would like to first apologize for sending this letter of appreciation so late after receiving your package.  Second, I would like to say thank you for the package.  It is such a morale booster to receive mail.  I shared the package with the other females here with us.  We all greatly appreciate it.  I see you’re a Steelers fan.  I am as well.  It is a shame we did not win the Super Bowl this year.  That would have been a great victory. I woke up early so I could watch the second half.  We’re 10.5 hours ahead of the east coast. SFC Tammi Swisher
