  • Make Up Class:  Any student who has missed one or more classes is expected to attend a makeup session to be held on Saturday, March 26 at 3:00 pm in the Holy Name Hall.  Mr. Roman will conduct the session so as to make sure the candidates fulfill their requirements to receive the Sacrament.  They will then go to 5:00 Mass and be ready to participate in the practice immediately afterwards.
  • Confirmation Practice:  will be held for about 45 minutes immediately after the 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday, March 26.  All candidates and sponsors are to attend Mass and remain for practice.  Any sponsor who is not able to be there for practice should have a candidate’s parent stand in for that evening.
  • Confirmation Night:  Bishop Zubik has requested that all candidates and sponsors be in their places by 6:30 pm the evening of Confirmation.  He will meet personally with the sponsors and candidates at that time.  BE ON TIME!

  • Reachout out to our Shut-ins:  We continue to make our “shut-ins” feel loved, appreciated and not forgotten. Write to them and help make their Lenten and Easter Season special.  Their names are on the yellow sheets around church.
  • Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation:  To be held after all the Masses on the weekend of April 9 & 10.  We will celebrate communally in a guilt free, non-judgmental way.  The same as we did for Advent this past year.
  • Reachout to the Needy:   Help, Our, Own.  Drop your donation in the collection or mail to the rectory to help feed our parishioners and realize that the new life of Easter comes also through the kindness of strangers.
  • Coin Collection: Begin saving your coins for the offering for the poor at our Holy Thursday Ministry of Service.
  • Pierogies – ALL LENT LONG:  “Gosia’s” pierogies will be available all during the season of Lent for $6.00 a dozen. We have potato/cheese and sweet cabbage available. You may stop at the Holy Name Rectory during the week.
  • Memorial Easter Flowers:  make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one until Easter.  Use your collection envelope. Be sure to include your name.  A memorial listing will be published after Easter.
  • Stations of the Cross:  will be prayed the Fridays of Lent at 12 noon alternating churches – March 25 (Holy Name), April 1 (St. Joseph), April 8 (Holy Name), April 15 (St. Joseph).

Make your plans to attend this year’s “Breast Cancer Benefit” which helps provide mammograms for the uninsured and underinsured.  The benefit will be held on Saturday, April 9 from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm in the Knights of Columbus Hall, West Mifflin.  Tickets are $25.00 each.  You can get yours by calling and we will send you the tickets when you send the donation. There are several ways that you can participate in making this event another huge success.  For full details, you can refer and pick up one of the large pink announcement flyers found around the churches.  How you can help!!  1) Come to the event. 2) Volunteer to help. 3) Make a food item to be served. 4) Donate a specialty basket or a case of pop, beer, a gift card or make a monetary donation. 5) Make a donation “in honor or in memory” of someone.

My name is Jennifer Coles.  I am the wife of Sgt. Larry Coles that you have sent a few packages to. Unfortunately, he is in a very remote part of Afghanistan and cannot send outgoing mail.  We are blest though with the ability of phone calls. He asked me to pass along his sincerest thanks and gratitude for the care packages.  Where they are at, he does not have access to any place to purchase any of life’s necessities.  Thank you for your support of our troops and may God bless you for all you do.
