CHRIST THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD PARISH ON FACEBOOK
We are happy to announce that Christ the Light of the World Parish is now on “Facebook.” Checkout our page by searching “Christ the Light of the World” on Facebook or visit the parish website and “like” us using the button at the bottom. This is a great way for us to stay connected as a parish community and up-to-date happenings in your parish.
2012 CALENDARS AVAILABLE
The 2012 yearly calendars are available around the church for you to take. However, the Mass schedule listed on the calendar is our old schedule. There are labels printed with the new schedule to place over the old one. They can be found near the calendars. Take a label, peel off the back and place it on the area with the Mass schedule. We would like to thank the Maloy-Schleifer and the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Homes for providing them for us.
Congratulations to the families of Ellen Margaret Budosh and Chase Michael Gianantonio, who are being baptized this weekend.
Christ the Light of the World /St. Joseph Choir will be singing for Kennywood’s Holiday Lights on Sunday, December 18 at 6:30 pm. Come to the park decked in holiday glory and support the parish choir.
CELEBRATING THE SEASON OF ADVENT
- Share the Spirit of the Season: We are asking everyone to reachout to our parishioners in nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted living facilities and the home centered elderly by sending a note or card to some or all. This reach-out is appreciated not only by the person you touch, but it touches their families as well to know that their loved one or parent is not forgotten by their parish. It is truly the “Spirit of the Season.”
- Memorial Christmas Flowers: Use your “Christmas flower” to make a donation in memory of a deceased family member, friend or loved one. Write down their names. Drop it in the collection or mail to the rectory until Christmas. Christmas Wafers (Oplatki): These wafers will be available at Holy Name Rectory, Monday thru Friday (9 am – 5 pm) and from the ushers at the weekend Masses at Holy Name and St. Hedwig.
ST. JOSEPH CHRISTIAN MOTHERS
The monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 13 praying the Rosary at 11:45 followed by Mass at 12:00 noon in Holy Name Church. A light snack will be served in the hall afterwards. Wear something “festive.” Bring a non-perishable food item for the Intersection.
