DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY “DuquesneFest”:  This annual Open House event will be held Sunday, June 10th beginning at 8 AM. This is a great chance for Fall 2018 high school seniors and their families to learn more about the university and meet with representatives from admissions, financial aid, academic, and student life departments.  Students can register on line at www.duq.edu/duquesnefest. 

CORPUS CHRISTI “SURGE OF THE HEART” MISSION:  Monday – Wednesday, June 4,5 and 6 at 7:00pm.  Corpus Christi Parish, 2515 Versailles Ave., McKeesport.  Presenter Jon Leonetti will speak on “Who is God and Why Does That Matter?”, “God’s Dream for Your Life,” and “Let’s Be Saints”.  There will be devotions before the presentations and hospitality afterwards.  All are welcome.  For more information call 412-672-0765. 

JEFFERSON HOSPITAL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS:  A variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities are available.  Whether you would enjoy working directly with patients in the surgery center, volunteering in the Gift Shop, behind the scenes in an office or as a caring presence for patients who may be dying alone, volunteering at Jefferson is a wonderful way to give to others.  To learn more, contact Janet O’Brien at 412-469-5885.

¨      Be a Golfer:  Outing is limited to 128 paid golfers–first come, first served. New golfers can get golf forms from around the churches or call the rectory.
¨      Join us for dinner: Dinner ONLY guest is $40.00. Call the rectory with your reservations.
¨      Donate a bottle of Liquor for the “Basket of Cheer” drawing, or a case of beer or pop as a special give away gift. To donate call Denise Tovlin (412-751-1853) or Chris Drecnik (412-401-0083).
¨      Volunteer:  We need helpers to work the event that day.  There are lots of things to do.  If you can spend the day with us give chairman David Fontanese a call (323-385-5724) or dfontanese@yahoo.com.
¨      Donate a prize for the Chinese Auction or a cash donation or gift card Call Jean Schleifer  (412-466-3300) or the church office  (412-469-0196).
¨      Buy your All-Cash Raffle:  All parishioners were mailed (4) four raffle tickets to buy or sell.  The number will be based on the 7pm PA Lottery “Pick 4” on June 18, 2018.  Each ticket has 2 possible winning numbers.  Donation is $2.00. The winning ticket will get $1,000.00; the number above and below will receive $250.00.  BONUS:  If one of the three winning tickets hits again on July 4, 2018, we will give a $10,000.00 cash prize.  The tickets would be a great Father’s Day gift and would be nice to include in a Father’s Day card.

All donations, prizes and reservations must be made by June 8th.

START GATHERING YOUR “STUFF” -   FLEA MARKET DROP-OFF BEGINS JUNE 11TH
This year’s Flea Market will be held on July 6, 7, 9 from 8am – 2pm in Holy Name Hall.  It’s not too early to start collecting your “stuff” that you no longer need. We accept almost anything, including furniture, appliances, household items, children’s toys and furniture, tools, Christmas Decorations, etc.  We do NOT accept tires, computer items of any kind, TVs, clothes, shoes, or boxed picture puzzles. Limited larger item pick-up is available for Dravosburg, Duquesne and West Mifflin areas only.
·       Drop-off dates and times: Drop off times:  Weekdays (Monday thru Friday – 9am – 12 noon) and Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays – 9 – 11am. Monday, July 2, will be the last day to make donations.
·       MORE VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED: A Huge “Thank You “ to the generous parishioners who have already stepped up to volunteer some time.  We still need more helping hands, especially to share the work of receiving, sorting and tagging items on drop-off days June 11 – July 2.  You can work a few hours, a few days, or a day or two each week – or whatever suits your schedule.  It's a great opportunity to meet other parishioners and spend some time getting to know them.  And it's a great way to help your parish with a fun fund-raising tradition!  If you can help any or all days call Debbi Lesko 412-694-6149 or the church office 412-469-0196.

ATTN:  KNITTERS & CROCHETERS:  Our “Stitches of Love” Group will be meeting on Thursday, May 31st in Holy Name Church Hall.  This is an informal gathering and both new and experienced crafters are welcome.

STUFFED PEPPER DINNER THIS SUNDAY:  Holy Trinity invites you to come and enjoy a delicious home made stuffed pepper dinner from noon to 5:00pm.  Bring the family!  Adults $9.00, Children $5.00.   

OUTDOOR MEMORIAL DAY MASS MAY 28:  This year we will celebrate the Outdoor Mass at Holy Trinity Cemetery (weather permitting) at 10:00 AM.  If it rains, the Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Church.  Please remember to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. 

OPEN HOUSE AT DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY, known as DuquesneFest, will be held on Sunday, June 10 beginning at 8:00 AM.  This is a fun way for all 2018 high school seniors to learn more about the University. Register online at www.duq.edu/duquesnefest.

Pentecost is the fullness and end of the Easter Season.  The apostles of Jesus were filled with His Holy Spirit and were able to boldly and courageously proclaim their faith in Him through their words and actions.  As a sign of our commitment to Christ and our faith, everyone is asked to WEAR SOMETHING RED to Mass next weekend.

This annual event is taking shape and we are beginning in earnest to make plans for another fantastic, successful event.  It will be held this year on Monday, June 18 – Youghiogheny Golf Club.
•     Invitations: This week all of our business friends, as well as those who have golfed in the past were sent invitations to participate with donations, signage or golfing in a foursome.  ONLY 128 golfers – first come, first served.  New golfers can get golf forms from around the churches or call the rectory.
•     Parishioner Participation:  The attached flyer outlines the many ways all parishioners are invited to participate.  Your participation is vital for the outings success, as well as keeping our parishes viable.

We've lost several of our dedicated volunteers this past year to death or illness, and are in great need of new volunteers, especially for drop-off days June 11 to July 2, to help with receiving, sorting and tagging items.

The hours are short (9-noon Monday thru Friday and 9-11am weekends.)  You can work a few hours, a few days, or a day or two each week – or whatever suits your schedule.  It's a great opportunity to meet other parishioners and spend some time getting to know them.  And it's a great way to help your parish with a fun and interesting fund-raising tradition!  If you can help any or all days call Debbi Lesko 412-694-6149 or the church office 412-469-0196.

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR STUDENTS who received their first communion or confirmation this past week.  May their faith journey continue and may their love for the Lord grow stronger everyday. First Communicants may wear their Communion attire to the Mass they attend next weekend,  May 5-6, and Fr. Tom will acknowledge them. 

SUMMER WEEKEND MASSES AT ST. HEDWIG WILL START NEXT SUNDAY, MAY 6:  There will be NO CHANGE to the Mass times.  The only change will be the switch from St. Joseph to St. Hedwig Church.   

OUR LAST HOAGIE SALE TILL FALL WILL BE NEXT WEEKEND, MAY 5-6:  You are welcome to join our wonderful team of volunteers who prepare the hoagies starting at 8am Saturday morning and sell the hoagies at the weekend Masses. We’ve been selling out so it would be a good idea to get your orders in early, especially if you plan to attend the 11:30am Mass.  Call the office at 412-469-0196.

SUMMER FLEA MARKET CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Looking for a chance to get out of the house for a few hours?  A chance to do something to make a difference?  This is it! We've lost several of our dedicated volunteers this past year to death or illness, and are in great need of new volunteers, especially for drop-off days June 11 to July 2, to help with receiving, sorting and tagging items.

The hours are short (9-noon  Monday thru Friday and 9-11am weekends.)  You can work a few hours, a few days, or a day or two each week – or whatever suits your schedule.  It's a great opportunity to meet other parishioners and spend some time getting to know them.  And it's a great way to help your parish with a fun and interesting fund-raising tradition!  If you can help any or all days call Debbi Lesko 412-694-6149 or the church office 412-469-0196.

KNITTERS & CROCHETERS:  Our “Stitches of Love” group will be meeting again on Thursday, May 3rd at 10am in HN Church Hall.  We love to see new faces… beginners and practiced knitters and crocheters are welcome.  Give yourself a break and come stitch away the time while you enjoy some fellowship and conversation with others. 

SENIOR SPRING FLING SOCIAL & DANCE:  Wednesday, May 9, at McKeesport Palisades.  Doors open at 3pm, dinner at 4pm, dance to the Mikey Dee Band from 5-7pm, drawings & raffles at 7pm.  $10.00 admission includes dinner.  Cash bar available.  For info & tickets call UPMC McKeesport Aging Institute at 412-664-2306.
