Advent - A Season for Waiting

In the Season of Advent, we pray for all those who are waiting, longing, expecting and yearning for the Incarnation Feast of Christmas.  People everywhere are:  waiting for justice and equality; waiting for food; waiting for peace; waiting for an end to physical pain and suffering; waiting for death; waiting for a job; waiting for leisure and recreation; waiting for clean water and sanitation; waiting for a place to live; waiting to be adopted; waiting for friends; waiting to be born; waiting for an end to domestic violence; waiting for a release from prison; waiting to marry; waiting to conceive or give birth to a child; waiting for a descent standard of living; waiting for an education; waiting for an organ transplant; waiting for affection, love and understanding; waiting for medical attention;  waiting  for a trial date; waiting for protection from neglect, cruelty or exploitation; waiting for sleep, waiting for service men and women to return home from foreign lands; waiting for loved ones to return to God; for us “the wait is almost over – when God comes.”
