CELEBRATING THE SEASON OF ADVENT

  • Advent/Christmas Theme:  Our theme for this year is “The Wonder Continues….” We have had so many emotionally moving, spiritually uplifting experiences this past year (i.e. the ice bucket challenge, sethstrong, team Fr. Dennis ALS walk, etc.) and  this whole year our parishes have been on a higher level of spiritual transformation. We wanted to keep that in focus, hold onto these feelings for a while longer and continue to be inspired. May each of us use the Liturgical aids provided to help make us spiritually and prayerfully ready to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas – the birth of Christ and not give in to and solely focus in on the commercial side of this season.
  • Elderly Reachout:  Spread the spirit of the season by reaching out to our parishioners who are listed on the attached sheets.   We can make them feel still part of our parish and help them not to feel forgotten.
  • Seasonal Symbol:  This symbol highlights our theme and can be displayed at home, on your tree or door, at work to remind you each day to keep focused and what the season is all about.
  • Seasonal Spiritual Aides:  These reading materials were chosen to enrich and inspire you. “The Marvels & Mysteries of Advent (Advent reflection & prayer with Sister Janet Schaeffler OP); “Little Blue Books” (6 minute daily meditations – will be delivered next weekend; “The Word Among Us” (daily meditations  from Scripture)
  • Advent for Kids:  “Watch, Wait, Wonder” (daily thoughts, activities and prayers for children)
  • Advent for Teens:  “Let’s Talk About Bullying”(table talk tips for families)

THANK YOU

We would like to thank the family of Ann Jakub, who died recently and asked that memorial donations be given to the parish in her name. We have received $575.00.
