Parish Membership !!!

In our ongoing journey to become “1 parish, 3 churches, yet 1 faith community” in 34 months, there will be continual issues that need to be addressed so that we can accurately assess how we will be able to sustain our parish and these churches in the future.

The most recent need is to diligently give precise population numbers so the decisions we will have to make will reflect – who makes up our parish; who belongs, and who are we.  Parish Membership is one of those issues that is constantly fluid, ongoing and changeable. We must give this issue some considerable attention.  So please, pay attention !!!

Factors that we need to address:

• All visitors are welcome.  We love having you worship with us.  If you have considered joining our parish or switching parishes, now may be the time to do so.  We have so many visitors who are searching or “testing the waters,” but you are not reflected in the statistics that we have to present when we decide how we are going to sustain our parish.
• Adult children.  Those living at home and working should be registered so that they can monetarily help sustain the parishes.  Having received your sacraments at one of our parishes is not enough to sustain where we will be in the future.  To be counted among the contributors, please call the rectory so we can update your files.
• Children living outside the home or who live elsewhere are not to be considered members unless they register on their own or if they live out of state should belong where they worship and live. Any adult children who want to belong or want to support this exciting journey to sustain our parishes should call the rectory ASAP.
• Anyone who does not wish to support our journey at this time should also let us know.

To keep these parishes alive, and the churches open and growing, we all must do our part and be supportive. We will also be able to give accurate and real statistics when we petition the Diocese to become “1 parish, 3 churches, yet 1 faith community.
